StetPro helps students get their own words onto the page by speaking, and keeps the material from that process — the raw transcript, the formatted version and, where stored, the recording — attached to the work.
Access to any of it is granted by an administrator; it is not assumed.
Accessibility and authorship together
Speech-to-text removes a real barrier for students who can explain an idea clearly and then lose it at the point of typing or organising it. At the same time, capable generative tools have made it harder to tell how any finished document came about, which puts pressure on exactly the students who most need an alternative route into written work.
StetPro treats these as one problem rather than two. It supports the creation of the work and retains evidence from that creation, so providing the support does not cost you the ability to understand how the work was produced.
A record behind the finished work
Depending on permissions and configuration, the material below is connected to the piece of work as it is produced, rather than reconstructed afterwards from the finished text.
Original audio
Held in private storage and opened only through a time-limited link, where audio access has been granted.
Raw transcript
What the student said, kept as captured. Corrections are attached as separate clarifications rather than edits.
Formatted version
The same material arranged for readability, kept alongside the raw transcript rather than replacing it.
Audit history
Finalisation and reviewer actions such as audio playback and export are recorded.

What StetPro changes — and what it doesn’t
The formatting step is deliberately narrow, so the role technology has played in a piece of work is clearly defined.

- Substituting wording that preserves the meaning
If a student said “the results shows”, the formatted version still says “the results shows”. The substantive wording remains the student’s.
Review when appropriate
Educator review is not a general browsing capability. It is switched on by an administrator and scoped to the students assigned to that educator within the same organisation.
Within that scope, an authorised educator can read the raw transcript beside the formatted version and see when the work was finalised.
Controlled audio access
Permission to review a piece of work does not carry permission to listen to the student speaking it. A recording is a student’s voice, and access to it is controlled separately from access to the text.
Where an administrator has enabled audio access and a recording was stored, an authorised educator can play it, and that playback is recorded.
Audit and accountability
StetPro records a defined set of actions rather than everything that happens on screen. Entries include:
- Students finalising and locking work, and adding further sections or clarifications
- Students exporting or deleting their own work
- Educators opening, exporting, archiving and restoring work
- Educators playing a student’s audio
- Administrative actions such as creating users and granting or revoking access
Audit entries are read through controlled views, so the log itself follows the same principle as the work: access has to be granted by an administrator.
Not another detector
Detection tools start from a finished document and try to infer, after the fact, how it was produced. StetPro works from the other end: it retains material from the process itself, so a reviewer can look at what was actually recorded rather than at an estimate drawn from the final wording.
That does not settle every question, and StetPro does not claim to guarantee authorship. It gives you something concrete to look at when a question arises. .
Fits your existing workflow
StetPro is where the work is created, not where it is submitted. Students export as Word (.docx), PDF or plain text, or copy the text out, and continue in whichever tools your institution already uses for drafting, submission and assessment.
Exporting does not alter the stored transcript, formatted version or recording.
